Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 22 March 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Quoscient app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices, created by Wessel van Dam (hereby referred to as “We,” “Us,” or “Our”). This service is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains our practices regarding data collection, use, and disclosure when you use our Application.

1. Information Collection and Use

Our Application respects your privacy. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or personally identifiable data from our users. Furthermore, the Application:

  • Does not track user behavior or analytics.
  • Does not serve third-party advertisements.
  • Does not contain in-app purchases.

2. Local Data Storage

To enhance your gameplay experience, the Application stores minimal gameplay data—specifically, your average game score, high score, and the total number of games played.

  • This data is stored locally on your specific device.
  • This data never leaves your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and cannot be accessed by us or any third parties.
  • If you uninstall the Application or clear its data, this local gameplay history will be permanently deleted.

3. Network Access and Third-Party Services

The Application requires an internet connection to fetch educational game content and resources from our backend database.

  • When fetching this data, the Application does not send any user-specific data, device identifiers, or tracking information to the database.
  • We only have access to anonymous, aggregated server usage metrics (such as overall bandwidth consumption and total server requests) provided by our database host to ensure the Application is running smoothly.

4. Children’s Privacy

Because our Application is an educational game, we are especially mindful of children’s privacy. Since the Application does not collect or transmit any personal information from any user, it inherently complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR-K), and similar global regulations regarding the online privacy of minors.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will notify you by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
